Not something ordered from a list, but something created around you, your wedding, and the details that make it yours.
From our first conversation, through the design process and all the way to setting your cake in place on the wedding day, I’m personally involved at every stage. I take the time to understand what you’re planning, bring my own creative eye to the design, and make sure the finished cake feels right within the setting it will become part of.
Because for me, the experience matters just as much as the cake itself.
The First Conversation
Once you’ve made an enquiry, we’ll arrange a relaxed conversation online or by phone. We’ll talk through your wedding, your venue, guest numbers, the overall style you’re planning and what you’re drawn to when it comes to your cake.
It’s also an opportunity for you to get a feel for how I work and for us to decide whether we’re the right fit for each other.
Secure Your Date
If you decide you’d like me to create your wedding cake, a £150 booking fee secures your date in my studio diary. This means your cake is officially booked and we can look ahead to the design process together.
I deliberately take on a maximum of one wedding per week, giving me the time to dedicate properly to each commission. From the initial planning and design through to creating, finishing and setting up your cake.
The Consultation
Closer to your wedding, once your venue and key styling details are confirmed, we’ll have a consultation. This is where we bring everything together. Your ideas, your venue, flowers, stationery, colours, textures and the overall feeling you want for your day.
We’ll talk through the cake itself, from its shape and proportions to the finishes, floral details and presentation. We’ll also look at flavours and how the cake can work alongside the wider wedding rather than feeling like something separate.
You don’t need to arrive with a finished idea. Part of my role is to guide you, offer creative suggestions and develop those ideas with you.
I then take everything we’ve discussed and create your design proposal and quotation.
Your Design
Following our consultation, I bring everything we’ve discussed into your final cake design. I’ll consider the structure, proportions, finishes, flowers, textures and colours, making sure every element works together and feels right for your wedding.
You’ll receive your design proposal and quotation to review, with everything clearly set out before we move forward.
The Final Details
As your wedding day approaches, I’ll confirm the final details with you and liaise with your venue, and where appropriate your florist or planner. We’ll make sure the delivery time, cake placement and presentation are all confirmed in advance, so everything is ready for the day.
Your Wedding Day
On the day of your wedding, I’ll personally deliver and set up your cake at the venue, making sure every detail is finished and positioned exactly as it should be. Once everything is in place, your cake is ready to be photographed, admired, and enjoyed.
